What you want to do in the public space and why?

With a focus to promoting a Healthy and Active City, as local Cullen Bay Traders we are looking to incorporate a monthly 'Health and Wellbeing Event' on Sunday mornings. This will be set on Cullen Beach or in Paspaley Park and incorporate; - Fitness classes to the public, with a breathtaking view (Yoga, Rebounder Classes, HIIT etc). - The above supported by Children's activities (kids games and artwork) to allow for parents to partake in all activities - Healthy Food Options for purchase to indulge in flavours you only find at Cullen Bay local Traders. Including interactive food involvement for adults and children - Monthly Speaker with a key message that the public can come down and listen to - Opportunity for Wellness Workshops - Wellness guidance using Essential Oils, and teaching to the public the benefits of this remedy - A 'men's networking' event located in one of Cullen Bay's venue to promote awareness of Health and Wellbeing for men also.

How you will make this project happen?

The Cullen Bay Business Committee, in conjunction with all local traders and interested parties will work as a group to plan and make the event happen.

When will the project start and finish? How long will it take?

Proposal to commence in April 2019 on a monthly basis, ending in September 2019. This would work well to the climate of the Dry Season in Darwin.

What permits or whose permission will you need to implement the project? What do you already have and what will you need to obtain?

Permission from: - Cullen Bay Marina Corporation - 'Board of Directors'/Owners of Cullen Beach Support from - Local Traders and the surrounding community of Darwin to attend the events

How will you deliver the project, including how many people will be involved and any partnerships you have developed?

The Cullen Bay Business Committee (CBBC) will be responsible for the delivery of the project with support from Activate Darwin, and the Marina Group. The Committee currently has 8 active members, who are Cullen Bay Business Owners/Traders. A strong working relationship has been built within the CBBC and support will be provided to ensure success for this project. In addition, personal interests in promoting Health and Wellbeing personally by members of the CBBC will be evident in this project.

How will you know your project is successful?

The success of the project will be evident by the statistics of people attending, this increasing over the duration of the events as it becomes more well known through different advertising channels in Darwin. In addition to a growing interest from traders to be involved as the public attendance increases, making it more viable for traders.
